Celine Trio Alternative
I have noticed that my big shoulder and hand bags are not the most practical on-the-go mommy gear for me. I need my hands free to move the car seat, store the stroller, carry groceries, and juggle my son's many miscellaneous items without these beastly bags impeding my movement. Moms (and dads), you know the drill.
This led me to search for a good sling bag that can carry just the essentials: debit card, driver’s license, cell phone, hand sanitizer and a few more small items.
Viola! I came across the Celine Trio Bag! It certainly is a beauty. Never underestimate its size because the Trio can carry a handful of your essentials and the best part is you can categorize your things. One feature I love about this bag is being able to snap the pouches together allowing you to mix and match with other Trios. What stopped me from Adding to Cart though was the hefty $1,050 price tag. As much as I wanted it, I just can't justify dropping a grand for a small everyday carry.
So naturally, I combed my favorite shopping sites in search of the cheaper alternative that was could still be stylish and it could get the job done without the wallet damage. I narrowed it down to a few options that I'd like to show you here:
This is the Marc Jacobs Double Ligero cross body bag which retails for $268. It is simple, durable, has clean lines, and comes in different colors that can go with anything. I went ahead and grabbed it in its "Gun Metal" color and I love it. I was also thrilled that I got it below retail price. Yes, you can buy this baby on sale!
Option 2 is this two toned Double Ligero, which is very feminine and fitting for this time of the year. Blush and light colors are definitely "in" this fall season (spoken like a fashionista—not really).
So while both of these Marc Jacobs options are not trios, they both have adequate space for me to carry the essentials and I like the quality and clean lines of this design (and designer).
If you are looking for a trio and willing to explore a new up and coming designer, I suggest you consider a bag from Australian designer Annabel Ingal. Her website reminds me of when I first checked out Mansur Gavriel's site. Let me know if it gives you that vibe as well.
These are the Jojo Corssbody from Ingal's collection and they retail for $320. It comes in a variety of colors but some seasonal colors get sold out pretty quickly, so if you have your eyes set on a specific color, I suggest to grab it as soon as you can.
The three separate compartments are each just big enough to fit a few of your EDC items without giving that bulky about-to-explode look. For the organized nut, this trio is a decent choice.
I look forward to sharing with you my next best alternative. Let me help you find yours!
